About the Family Farm

Whether stopping for your first time or returning for another visit, we thank you for making us a part of your journey.

Three Generations of Hart Farms

Hart Farms has been in our family for three generations. It all began back in the 1980's when the very first produce stand was set up under the honor system. Customers could stop by, pick out what they needed, and leave payment in a box. That simple stand helped the family through the '80s and '90s until the Hart kids grew up and moved on.

Years later, one of those kids decided to bring the stand back to life for his children. With his own kids now old enough to help, the produce stand was revived as a way for them to save for college. What began with just selling sweet corn quickly grew to offering a lot more.

From Sweet Corn to a Summer Pit Stop

At first, the stand only sold corn. But as beachgoers, locals, and out-of-town travelers began spreading word, people would stop in before heading home from vacation, detour off the highway just to get a dozen ears, or load up coolers to take home across state lines.

As demand grew, so did the offerings. Watermelons, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, lima beans, and so much more. These days, folks from all across the United States, Canada, and even overseas stop by, often marking their hometown on our farm's pushpin map before picking out produce.
